I love coding, designing, setting up software, connecting things, analysing data, and fiddling with tech-gadgets. Obviously, I studied Engineering… except I did not. How did I get here? Well, that’s quite a long story. You can read here if you want to get to know me better as a person.
Why I do what I do
Besides loving technology, I love helping businesses take advantage of it. I feel that there are many great people around that are doing wonderful things, but few others know about them. And that’s where technology can make a difference.
Nowadays, most entrepreneurs know that a website can help them get business. So many get one. However, a website alone does not set you up for success.
First of all, it should be a well designed website. I don’t mean just pretty. I mean designed with your business objectives and your customers in mind. Secondly, it needs to be part of your digital strategy. It has to be working in symbiosis with your social media and digital advertising. This is essential both to get conversions and to reduce the cost of your advertising. Then you need all your technology to speak to each other. You need your website to talk with your Facebook, and you need them all to feed back to your customer relationship manager (CRM). And you need a CRM! So many businesses are not keeping track of their leads, and they lose them out. You need content to support your marketing, which must include graphics and video. Finally, you need productivity tools, that help your team work efficiently together.
Business owners are busy, and they should focus on what they do best. I’ve been there myself in the past, and I did 5% of all the things I recommend. I simply had no time! That’s why client acquisition was extremely slow, expensive, and troublesome.
I want to be that person that you can consider part of your team, who’s taking care of all your web and business technology. One step at a time. You’ll get to harness the benefits of technology, while I get to do the things I love and see them make a real difference in peoples lives.
Things I care about
I like other things too, like TV shows, learning about different cultures, food, and travel. What I really care about, though, is my family and empathy.
Empathy is the ability to put oneself in another person’s shoes and understand what they are going through. I feel today we often forget that on the other side there are human beings with feelings, needs, families, and passions. That is why we’re often ready to judge, to get irritated, and not so keen to help out. That is why some part of Italy thinks it’s okay to leave people to die at sea. I really care about standing against this trend.
I try to be helpful whenever I can. I try to do my bit against racism, sexism, homophobia, Islamophobia, and any kind of discrimination. I don’t care if this statement loses me clients, because ultimately this is more important to me than money.
I support Darlington Association for Refugees, a local charity in Darlington that provides support and friendship to refugees and asylum seekers as they rebuild their lives in our community. You can check their website here. It is a charity run exclusively by volunteers, so if you want to make a donation your money will go 100% towards helping refugees and asylum seekers.
